Albion Hurricanes FC Welcomes Houston Velocity Field Hockey to Form Albion Field Hockey
Houston, TX – Albion Hurricanes FC (AHFC) is proud to announce the expansion of its programming through a new partnership with Houston Velocity Field Hockey Club. This collaboration marks the launch of Albion Field Hockey, a new entity that will bring field hockey under the AHFC umbrella, further strengthening its commitment to youth sports and community development.
With a long-standing tradition of excellence in soccer, AHFC continues to grow its impact across Greater Houston and East Texas. The addition of field hockey to the club's offerings reflects AHFC’s vision of becoming a premier multi-sport organization—one that fosters athleticism, teamwork, and lifelong participation in sport.
"We are thrilled to welcome Houston Velocity into the AHFC family," said Mark Horton, General Manager of Albion Hurricanes FC. "This partnership allows us to broaden our reach and support even more young athletes. The formation of Albion Field Hockey is an exciting step as we continue to enhance our club during our 25th anniversary year."
The integration of Houston Velocity Field Hockey under the AHFC brand brings together two passionate organizations dedicated to excellence in youth development. As part of this initiative, all field hockey operations will transition to Albion Field Hockey, maintaining the same high standards of coaching, programming, and community spirit.
"This is a natural evolution for our club," said Tom Bower, Business Manager of Houston Velocity. "Joining AHFC provides our field hockey athletes with the resources of a larger, well-established organization, and we’re excited to grow the sport even further in the Houston area as part of a multi-sport platform."
The launch of Albion Field Hockey is one of several announcements being made in celebration of AHFC’s 25th anniversary, part of its “25 in 25” campaign—a year-long series of enhancements and initiatives to mark the milestone. Further information, including a full FAQ and upcoming programming details, will be released soon.
